Subject: Please Send Reiki

Dear Student of Reiki,

I had a heart attack on New Years Eve.

I was taken to the hospital by two Reiki practitioners who gave me Reiki
on the way and received emergency care at the hospital. I am feel better,
but will be receiving tests on Friday morning to determine my condition.

I'm feeling weak but in good spirits.

Please send Reiki.

Dear Student of Reiki,

Thanks so much for sending Reiki. Your support is really felt and appreciated - and is helping.

I'm at home now and feeling better. Apparently I had a blood clot form in or move into the heart which blocked blood flow to part of the heart. At the emergency room they gave me a clot dissolving agent intravenously which broke up the clot and thus stopped the heart attack.

While in the hospital they gave me a heart cath in which they place a tube up into the heart and injected a dye which allows a detailed ct scan. They found that I didn't need angioplasty nor did I need a stent.

However, because of the lack of blood flow, the heart was stunned and part of the heart muscle may have died. This has left me feeling weak and in need of lots of rest. I am getting better and do have a little more strength today than yesterday. However, at this time I'm not supposed to drive or lift things or exercise, but to get lots of rest. A complete recovery is possible, but I'm not sure how long it will take. In a week or 10 days I'll take a treadmill stress test and a new exercise program will be formulated for me.

This has really been a shock. I thought from all the Reiki I give and receive plus the tests I've had and the fact that I have a good diet and that I exercise regularly that my heart was in good shape. But apparently on some level there was a problem. One thing that really helped is the fact that before the heart attack, I had been involved in an exercise and diet program that really improved my physical health.
I believe this experience has a very important meaning for me on a personal level which will be unfolding over the next few weeks. It feels like a rite of passage - an important test involving several things including the development of my ability to receive love from others and to send love back.

The Reiki you have been sending feels very powerful and has really helped. I'm now in the recovery phase and the Reiki you send will be very important to me. Please continue with your prayers and distant Reiki.

Here is one method that Laurelle Gaia has suggested. Use the distant and the emotional/mental symbol, and send Reiki to the moment just before the heart attack happened - which occurred at 11:30pm on Dec. 31. Or just send regular Reiki and prayers or do whatever you are guided.

I feel fortunate to be connected with so many wonderful caring people who are able to help.

With love and gratitude,
William Lee Rand

Dear Students of Reiki,

I really appreciate all the prayers and Reiki so many have been sending. In fact it has been a very powerful experience to receive so much love and support and healing energy. I believe that is why I have done so well. My spirits have been up and many have commented on how good I sound on the phone or look in person. I have had very little depression - which they say is usually part of having a heart attack and usually feel very happy.

I spend a lot of time just laying around looking out the window, or watching old reruns on TV or listening to music. It's been snowing here the last several days and I really enjoy just looking out the window watching the snow come down. I continue to feel better each day and am able to do a little work and to drive a little. But mostly I'm resting sleeping, doing Reiki on myself and meditating.

My intention is to fully recover and I expect in a few weeks, I'll be able to do a little more and perhaps even start to get a little exercise. Before the heart attack, I was walking 20 miles a week and felt in great shape. I'd walk four miles in an hour five days a week. And my diet was really good - fish, vegetables, a little fruit, a high protein drink and lots of supplements. Because of this, there is no need for me to change my diet. And I believe that the exercise and diet and of course all the Reiki before the heart attack really helped and will make it easier to recover.

While I'm not afraid to die, I'm really grateful to be alive. I love life and am so happy that you are on my side, wishing me well, saying prayers and sending Reiki. Please continue to do so. Also, I've been praying for you, giving thanks for all your love and healing and that everything in your lives will go well.

I feel blessed by what has happened. While I knew I wasn't going to die, I felt close to death for many days. This has been one of the most real and meaningful experiences I've had. It has given me a far greater appreciation for life; my own, that of others and for all living things. I experienced so much about the heart which I wasn't able to share, but as time goes by and I continue to recover, I know this experience will enrich everything I do.

Many people have called the office to find out how I'm doing and to wish me well. This is appreciated. But there have been so many who have called it has caused the office to get behind in the work they do at the Center. So, please do not call. If you'd like to send email to wish me well, please send to the return email address healingheart@reiki.org

Love and much heart felt thanks,

William Lee Rand
