Intution 101: Basics for Beginners by
Amy Rowland This is an excerpt from the article Reiki and Intuition Part
II feartured in the Reiki News Magazine. To find out how to get the whole
article and lots more, click
here.
Ask Spirit for What You Want Connect to God or Spirit
in your own way and ask for help in becoming more intuitive. Ask your Angels to
work with you to help you to open up to receive Spirit's guidance. Ask them to
help you to become comfortable with the process. Ask them to help you to learn
how to distinguish guidance from wild guesses, genuine intuitive flashes from
the projection of imaginary fears. And remember to say "thank you!"
Expect to be intuitive Your belief and expectations help create
your reality. Expect to be increasingly intuitive and you will be. You can use
affirmations, visualizations, meditation, and even crystals to help you hold your
intention. Honor your guidance Spirit delights in beckoning you
forward on your path by presenting you with shimmering glimpses of your true enlightened
and empowered nature and the future you can manifest. When you feel that you are
being drawn toward someone or something that is for your highest good, don't analyze,
argue, or second-guess. Follow the impulse forward, trusting Spirit, and see what
unfolds. Be grateful for the guidance you receive Feeling gratitude
always opens us up to experience even more good in our lives. However fleeting
or fragmentary the flash of intuition you experience, be thankful for it and use
the insight in the best way you know how. Record it in a journal as well, so you
can appreciate the progress you are making over time. Be patient with
the learning process For most people, becoming intuitive is a process
of years, not weeks or days. And some of us need to do considerable self-healing
to clear away skepticism and self-doubt. Some of us need to de-clutter our inner
and outer worlds of "stuff" that we are holding onto from the past to
have clarity in the present. And some of us need to learn to really let go of
the stress of the day so that our minds are at peace and our emotions are calm
when we ask for guidance. It's tough for us to "get" messages from Spirit
when we aren't willing to give Spirit our quiet time and undivided attention as
we "tune in." Be light-hearted -- and don't give up! When
a baby is learning to walk, he falls all the time - and family members laugh and
praise him for the effort and encourage him to try again. The baby gets right
back up, smiles, and walks a few steps further before he falls again. He doesn't
give up, and eventually, he walks beautifully. If we can allow ourselves to acknowledge
that we are just like babies learning to walk as we practice using our intuition,
and be playful and lighthearted with the process, we'll enjoy each moment more
fully and have fun! Practice, practice, practice! Use every
opportunity that comes to you to go to your inner guidance: "All right, let
me see now if I can guess who is going to be on the other end of the phone before
I pick it up?" "Which street has the perfect parking place just waiting
for my car?" "Gee, I know my friend is sitting somewhere in this auditorium.
If I close my eyes and connect to Spirit and ask to feel her presence, can I 'see'
where she is sitting?" Be in harmony with Spirit We can
know we are in harmony by looking for synchronicities and listening to our intuition.
Synchronicities are Spirit's external signposts that give us direction in our
personal lives; intuition is the inner guidance. We can also come into harmony
by stopping any sense of struggle, breathing deeply, doing Reiki, and relaxing.
As we feel the flow of Spirit-guided life force energy, we can shift our consciousness
into knowing that our lives are in order and unfolding according to the divine
plan.
Update
from William Lee Rand
See
previous updates The Reiki and prayers everyone
is sending continue to really help! I'm gaining strength and am now able to take
care of some of my email, and do some writing and other small projects. My treadmill
stress test went well and I'm starting to exercise. In fact, I walked a mile today!
But, I still need lots of rest, so most of my time is taken up doing Reiki on
myself, resting, sleeping, reading, watching old reruns and generally taking it
easy. According to a blood test a blood clotting factor called fibrinogen
was elevated beyond the normal level at the time of the heart attack. This is
likely one of the factors that caused the blood clot to form that caused the heart
attack. I'm now taking several things to reduce the fibrinogen level including
Nattokinase, aspirin and Omega-3 fish oil and this has brought my fibrinogen level
into the normal range. I plan to get monthly blood tests to make sure it stays
in the normal. I feel I'll need another month or so of rest, but I'm sure
by then I'll be feeling a lot better. With all the love, prayers and Reiki you're
sending I'm certain that I'll have a full recovery. It's such a great and wonderful
thing to have so many people sending for my heart. It fills me with love and peace.
I feel like I'm surrounded by a very large ball of light and when I give myself
Reiki, I often become surrounded by a cocoon of nurturing soothing energy, and
drift up into a wonderful healing space, filled with love and caring. One
of the benefits of this experience is that along with my heart healing, my heart
chakra is healing more deeply too. Life is such a blessing and there are so many
things to be grateful for. Thanks so much for your love and support. Special
Note: Many people have called the office to find out how William is doing and
to wish him well. This is really appreciated. But there have been so many who
have called it has caused the office to get behind in the work they do at the
Center. So, please do not call. If you'd like to send email to wish William well,
please send to healingheart@reiki.org
Mari
Hall Update Mari emailed me recently. She's resting, sleeping,
reading, working on web pages and being very quiet. And she is making progress.
In fact, her energy level is up enough that she has started the process of moving
back to the USA. She appreciates all the love and Reiki you've sent and is still
recovering from her heart attack, so please continue to send Reiki.
Kenyoku,
Dry Bathing by William Lee Rand
This is a Japanese Reiki
Technique for purification. In Japan, before one enters a temple or sacred place,
usually there is a place near the entrance with running water which is used for
ritual cleansing to purify oneself before entering. Kenyoku means dry bathing
and is a technique for ritual purification using energy rather than water. This
is a good technique to use before and after giving a Reiki treatments. It can
also be used at verioius times through the day or anytime one feels the need to
release negative energy.
1. Do a short Gassho meditation. 2. Place your
right hand on your left shoulder. 3. Stroke down your chest, across your
stomach and end at the right hip. 4. Do the same on the other side. 5.
Repeat step #2. 6. Extend your left arm. 7. Place our right hand on your
left shoulder. 8. Stroke down your arm all the way to the hand and
finger tips. Then fling your right hand out into the air as though you are throwing
away any negative energy. 9. Do the same with the right arm. 10. Repeat
the stroke down the left arm again. 11. You can also add a short Gassho at
the end. This
techniques is from the Reiki
I&II manual.

Reiki Stories
Broken
Wrist Healed One of my Reiki clients broke her left wrist in three places.
The doctor told her they would have to do surgery and possibly use a plate and/or
pins or screws to put it back together. I started doing weekly Reiki sessions
immediately and did three sessions before her scheduled surgery. By that time
the swelling had gone down much faster than the doctor anticipated, and the pain
was practically gone. The doctor did a CT scan two days before surgery and was
amazed at the level of healing that had taken place. He cancelled the surgery
and put on a permanent cast that was much shorter. We continued the Reiki sessions
for four more weeks and the wrist is now as good as new. Doug Gibbs Migraine,
Arthritis, Pain Healed At the time of joining Reiki I in 2000 I was suffering
from severe migraine followed by vomiting almost on daily basis and arthritis
which resulted in swelling in my fingers. By the grace of God both the problems
were over thanks to Reiki. Immediately after Reiki II in 2000 I did distant
healing to a colleague of mine who was suffering from severe pain at the coccyx
area. As a result she has not been able to move and sit properly. On her request
I gave Reiki for 21 days. Her pain was completely over. Now she wants to become
a Reiki channel. Most probably she will be taking Reiki I very soon. Shaji NK Reiki
Heals Back The journey of a life time began with Reiki; it was like fining
my way back home. There was a piece of me that was missing. It started eight or
so years ago. I began a quest to learn more about myself through my Native American
heritage. I devoured every book I could get my hands on about the native culture
and history. What a grand adventure. . . . . . At the time I had just entered
massage therapy school. My life was flowing. Midway through school I developed
a debilitating back problem. Because I was in such pain both physically and emotionally
I was unable to attend class. I decided to try a chiropractor but I was still
in unbearable pain. My days were numbered. I had missed seven of the nine days
allowed before being dropped from the program. I had worked so hard and knew with
every breath in me that I was supposed to be a therapist. I questioned why this
happened. Better yet, what I could do to transform this obstacle into an opportunity.
Then a miracle happened. While lying in bed at 3:00 a.m. unable to sleep
because of the pain and depression over the possibility of being kicked out of
school a feeling of clarity came to me. I knew I could be healed through Reiki.
I felt led to place my hands on the back of my head. I said a simple prayer of
faith and love. The heat began to travel through my body. I felt like I was in
a furnace. It didn't hurt and felt so loving and peaceful, like I was being cradled.
Within minutes I felt an excruciating pain in my lower back and cried out. It
was as if two hands had taken my spine and snapped it back into place. At first
I was stunned then I realized I had no more pain. At that moment tears of joy,
relief and gratitude flowed down my cheeks. I sat up and got out of bed with no
pain! It was gone! I thanked God for this miracle and the wonderful gift of Reiki
he had brought into my life. Changed forever, I finished school and went
on to be blessed to take mastership in Usui and Karuna Reiki®. This is but
one of many of my blessed journeys with Reiki! Reiki continues to bring miracles
into my life each day. Sandra Mitchell
