FREE International Center For Reiki Training Home Page Basics of Reiki-Chakra Work by Walter Lübeck This is an excerpt from Reiki and Chakra Healing that appears in the winter edition of the hard copy Reiki News Magazine. Whenever you find a symptom related to the functioning of a main chakra as described below, you should treat this chakra as a special position. This means you would treat it in addition, for at least ten minutes, to the whole-body treatment. You may use the power symbol to increase the flow of the spiritual life energy (Reiki) and the mental healing symbol for harmonizing and developing the belief patterns of that energy organ. To treat a chakra you should not place your hand on the body, because Reiki is always pulled in by the body and so a lot of the healing energy will not reach the chakra. By placing your hand at a distance of about ten to fifteen centimeters (four to six inches) above the front side of the body you will direct most of the Reiki to the chakra. The seventh chakra should be treated the same way but above the top of the head. The first chakra should be treated the same way, but from below. Often, problems with a chakra are related to a block between itself and the spiritual energy channels of the spine. Therefore, it is helpful to treat a chakra from the front side and at the point on the spine where it connects to the other chakras through the spinal energy channels. To treat the back of a main chakra most effectively try each of two ways and then use the one which is most effective: give Reiki either with two or three fingers directly to the spine, or using the whole flat hand above the spine without touching the body. Before you start to treat, rub your palms together until you feel that they are energized. Now direct your palms to the main chakra which you would like to treat from front and back. Move your hands a little bit up and down until a clear sensation of the emanation of the energy organ occurs. Many healers find it easier to develop good contact to a client's chakra by guiding their breath to their own hara region, which is situated about two fingerbreadths below the navel. Always move your hands a little bit to create maximum Reiki emanation to the chakra. The Functions of Each Chakra First chakra. Survival; fighting or running away; bones; being grounded; the spiritual element earth; vitality; the adrenal glands; basic sexual energy; the will to live. Second chakra. Being happy with the body; erotic sexuality; the spiritual element water; flexibility; playing; the kidneys. Enjoying relationships based on any kind of bodily pleasure; taking in nutritional substances from the bowels into the metabolism and integrating them into the metabolism. Allergies, migraine, PMS, the skin. The urogenital system. The lymphatic system; resonance to the emotions and feelings of others. Third chakra. Management; power, fears; the nervous system; digestion; the spiritual element of fire; to be able to say No! Analyzing, individuality, systematical and practical thinking. Liver, gall bladder, spleen, pancreas, stomach; the stability and flexibility of the blood vessels. Fourth chakra. Love; close social environment like friends and family; the energetic element air; tolerance; to be able to say Yes! The heart; higher emotions; taking care of others and oneself; the want for and the ability to have stable and fulfilling social relationships; resonance to the needs of others. Fifth chakra. Communication on all levels; psychic abilities; artistic talents; speech; the spiritual element ether; the lungs; the developed individual personality; charisma; expressing to others what is going on inside the mind; the thyroid glands. Sixth chakra. Spiritual vision; combining the functions of all parts of our being in a constructive and harmonious way with each other (organs, cells, etc.) and with outside situations and beings; intuition; finding the spiritual path; sensible handling of actions, thoughts and emotions; spiritual vision; wanting to do something sensible for mankind. Seventh chakra. Being ONE; being in complete resonance to every part of the whole universe. In daily life, a natural desire to develop and practice spirituality, to pray, to meditate and to connect to the Creator. This is an excerpt from the complete article, Reiki

here. Send Reiki for World Peace by William Lee Rand It appears that important decisions are about to be made and possible actions taken concerning the situation with Iraq. The western world and especially president Bush will play an important role in how this unfolds and there could be significant consequences for millions of people. We want the best for all concerned and it may be difficult to know exactly what needs to happen to bring long term peace and safety to all the people involved. However, we know that the intelligence that resides within Reiki has the wisdom to guide the situation into a more harmonious outcome. Therefore I request that each of us take some time each day to send Reiki to President George Bush, Tony Blair, Saddam Hussein, the people of Iraq, and all those concerned with the situation. Remember, when doing so it is important to set your own ego and personal energy aside and to turn the situation over completely to the loving healing power of Reiki. Think of the affect this will have if hundreds or even thousands of Reiki practitioners focus Reiki healing energy on the situation every day. Certainly it will reduce suffering and create a greater level of peace for Iraq and the whole world. Coordinated Prayer for Peace Thanks so much for your help.
The value of Reiki as an alternative/complementary healing method is becoming more and more apparent to the general public. In fact, it seems like just about everyone either has Reiki or has heard of a friend or other acquaintance that has it or has heard it mentioned before. Not only is this causing an increase in the use of Reiki by independent practitioners, but it is also fostering the increased use of Reiki in hospitals and clinics. While there is no statistics available as far are I know, from the communication I have received over the past, Reiki is being offered in hundreds if not thousands of hospitals across the country. This increased use especially in professional settings has brought the question of government regulation of Reiki to the attention of many people and groups. Some have started to think of Reiki in the same way they think of other medical practices and have suggested that it needs to be regulated and licensed. In addition, the current medical practice act that was passed in most states many years ago is so broad that technically, Reiki is considered a medical practice and therefore requires that it be practiced only by licensed health care providers. Note that this law is currently in place, but rarely enforced. However, the fact that it exists places all Reiki practitioners under an unnecessary threat that could be used if someone chooses to do so. This has happened with a few other alternative/complementary practitioners with devastating results. Remember, the purpose of a law is to protect the public from harm. Since Reiki does not cause harm, there is no need to create laws requiring that Reiki be licensed or regulated by the government. However, since the medical practice act does already exist, and since other groups are considering creating government licensing of Reiki, something must be done to protect ourselves from this threat. Several states have passed laws exempting alternative/complementary practitioners including Reiki practitioners from the medical practice act. These laws are beneficial to Reiki practitioners as they prevent the government from harassing us and make the practice of Reiki without a license a legitimate legal activity. The legislation recently passed in California is a good example of this. I suggest you carefully read this short bill as it is a good model for legislation that protects Reiki practitioners and also protects the client. that often comes up in Reiki classes and in the emails I receive
involves the human energy system (HES). People want to know
what it is, why it is important, and most of all, what role
it plays in the practice of Reiki. Questions about this topic
come up a lot, but there doesn't seem to be much information
available. One reason is that the original hand positions taught
in the West involve placing the hands on the body and not in
the aura. This was fostered by Mrs. Takata, who didn't include
information in her classes about the chakras or the aura or
how to treat them with Reiki. The same is true in This is puzzling as Reiki, being a subtle energy, works directly on and through the HES. The value of this cannot be overstated, as the HES forms the very basis of our health and creates the foundation of our consciousness. A good understanding of this important, but little-mentioned, aspect of Reiki healing can greatly enhance your use of Reiki. At the same time, it can also increase your comprehension of life itself. Included in this issue are a number of articles written by well-known Reiki authors, which we hope you will find to provide a very through description of the HES. Diane Shewmaker gives us an exceptionally clear overview of the HES and explains how to restore balance and harmony by treating the aura with Reiki. Walter Lübeck continues with his article on the chakras and includes information on healing stones and how to use them to treat the chakras, along with other interesting techniques. Penelope Quest shows us how to detect the aura and chakras with dowsing rods and with our hands, and even how to see them. Doing this provides us with a personal experience of the HES by allowing us to interact with it directly which is necessary if we are to use Reiki to heal it. Laurelle Shanti Gaia introduces us to the Soul Chakras, which adds greater depth to our understanding of the HES and additional healing possibilities. The interview with James Oschman, Ph.D. grounds our understanding of the HES in the world of science and provides new perspectives on healing and how Reiki works. This interview provides one of the most interesting explanations of healing and Reiki I have ever read. This information will be most helpful to anyone wanting to work with the medical community as it provides proof that Reiki exists and has value! Mari Hall shares her experience using Reiki to help an infertile couple conceive and give birth to a child. Back Issues Operation Cancelled after Reiki! Due to the severity of the pain, I did not have any hope of stopping the pain, my only purpose was to just help her relax and not to fear this pending operation. I worked through her chakras and spent a long time with her. When I completed the Reiki treatment, I had a "flash" reminder of the teachings of my Reiki Master regarding the extension of the fingers. I then returned my attention to her face on the side where she had this constant pain. I "extended" my fingers to the inside of her face, bone, nerves and flesh and actually felt a small ridge and worked on that ridge for approximately 2 minutes until the ridge vanished. I felt a tremendous amount of "energy" pouring into her face. I asked her how the pain was. Her reply: "The pain is gone", and she burst into tears. I called her husband to the therapy room where the three of us prayed together to say thank you. The operation was cancelled and the pain never returned again. She is still in contact with me. She only had the one Reiki treatment. To me this was truly a miracle! I've experienced many healings but this one beats them all.
