Joy of the Holiday Season
by William Lee Rand
This is a wonderful time of year when many different religious
and sacred holidays are celebrated by people all over the world.
This has a powerful uplifting affect on the quality of the spiritual
energy surrounding the planet. This can enhance our Reiki sessions
as well as fill us with special joy and peace. In order to feel
this energy and benefit from it, it is important to acknowledge
this possibility and to allow your heart and spirit to tune
into the energy. This can feel like wonderful warmth that fills
your heart and makes you feel good all over and can also spread
from you to others. I hope you will take the time to meditate
on the joy and peace of this special time of year. And if you
see someone who doesn't seem to feel this energy, then perhaps
you can give them a special smile or even a hug if it is someone
you know and intend to pass on the energy to them. Joy can be
contagious.
This is also a good time to send Reiki to everyone on the planet.
May your life be filled with the greatest love, peace and joy,
now and through out the coming year.

Send Reiki for World Peace
by William Lee Rand
It appears that important decisions are about to be made and
possible actions taken concerning the situation with Iraq. The
western world and especially president Bush will play an important
role in how this unfolds and there could be significant consequences
for millions of people. We want the best for all concerned and
it may be difficult to know exactly what needs to happen to
bring long term peace and safety to all the people involved.
However, we know that the intelligence that resides within
Reiki has the wisdom to guide the situation into a more harmonious
outcome. Therefore I request that each of us take some time
each day to send Reiki to President George Bush, Tony Blair,
Saddam Hussein, the people of Iraq, and all those concerned
with the situation. Remember, when doing so it is important
to set your own ego and personal energy aside and to turn the
situation over completely to the loving healing power of Reiki.
Think of the affect this will have if hundreds or even thousands
of Reiki practitioners focus Reiki healing energy on the situation
every day. Certainly it will reduce suffering and create a greater
level of peace for Iraq and the whole world.
World Healing Day
Tuesday, December 31 is World Healing Day. Millions of people
around the world will be sending their prayers and healing energy.
The exact time is Noon Greenwich time. If you can't meditate
and send Reiki at this time, then anytime on December 31 will
work. This meditation has been taking place every year since
1986. To learn more about this meditation, click

Dowsing
the Aura
by Penelope Quest
|
Regular coat hangers can be used
as dowsing rods
|
This is an excerpt from Detecting,
Sensing and Seeing the Aura and Chakras that appears in
the winter edition of the hard copy Reiki
News Magazine.
Holding the rods comfortably and loosely at mid-chest
height, stand some distance away from the person whose aura
you want to detect. Seven to ten metres (twenty to thirty feet)
away would be good, but it will still work in a more restricted
space, although you may not find the outer layer. Then tune
in to the person's unique energy vibrations by saying aloud
or silently "I am looking for this person's aura"
(insert the name of the person). Providing you are far enough
away from the person, as you walk very slowly and evenly towards
them, when the rods react by crossing or opening out (or whatever
reaction is normal for you) you will have found the outer edge
of their aura. If you are already within that person's aura
when you start, the rods may begin to move immediately. You
can stop when the rods react. Then slowly walk forward again
until you reach the next area where the rods change their reaction.
It is not necessary to continually reaffirm that you are looking
for the person's aura-saying it once at the beginning is enough.
And so on, until you get very close to the person. But do stop
before the dowsing rods crash into the person! Remember the
innermost layer(s) may be only a few centimetres from the body,
so you may only be able to detect five or six of the seven layers.
For the majority of people, the layers of their auras seem
to be alternately positive and negative energy-not meaning good
or bad, but simply indicating a different set of vibrations,
similar to positive and negative polarities in magnetism. However,
some people's auric layers are all the same-all positive, or
all negative-and others have the first three layers positive,
and the next four negative, and so on. Occasionally I find that
a person has a few particularly active layers in their aura
which don't register as positive or negative, but which when
detected with dowsing rods cause the rods to circulate like
helicopter blades, as I have mentioned above. Technically these
layers might be neutral energy, but I prefer to call them "curly"!
However, each person is individual, so there is no right or
wrong in this-just as there is no right or wrong about having
dark hair instead of blonde. That's just the way it is!
What you may find interesting is to try detecting someone's
aura before a Reiki attunement, and then again afterwards, and
compare the results. I sometimes have my students do this. To
their amazement, they find that their auras have expanded to
two or three times the size they were before the attunement.
You need a very large space to check this out and usually will
have to go outside to get enough space! It also works if you
try it before and after a Reiki treatment, although the expansion
isn't usually quite so great. Another fun thing to try is detecting
the auras around plants. One of my students was quite freaked
out when detecting the aura of a large houseplant when he felt
himself being pushed back by the plant's aura-which I guess
indicated that the plant didn't particularly like its energy
field being interfered with in that way! Plants are living beings,
so if you try this, remember to ask permission first (even if
you feel silly doing so); if you sense any discomfort, or even
get a "no" in your head, then choose another plant.

Reiki and the Human Energy System
Honoring All Reiki Schools and Lineages
The Reiki News Magazine

Welcome .
the
third edition of our hard copy magazine is now available. We've continued
to improve and have worked hard on this issue. In fact the magazine
has expanded by 50 percent to include over 35 pages of articles!
All written by accomplished Reiki authors and teachers who are
providing you with some of their best experiences and thinking
on the subject of Reiki.
One of the areas of interest
that often comes up in Reiki classes and in the emails I receive
involves the human energy system (HES). People want to know
what it is, why it is important, and most of all, what role
it plays in the practice of Reiki. Questions about this topic
come up a lot, but there doesn't seem to be much information
available. One reason is that the original hand positions taught
in the West involve placing the hands on the body and not in
the aura. This was fostered by Mrs. Takata, who didn't include
information in her classes about the chakras or the aura or
how to treat them with Reiki. The same is true in Japan; with the exception of byosen scanning, not much
attention is given to the aura and chakras there, either.
This is puzzling as Reiki,
being a subtle energy, works directly on and through the HES.
The value of this cannot be overstated, as the HES forms the
very basis of our health and creates the foundation of our consciousness.
A good understanding of this important, but little-mentioned,
aspect of Reiki healing can greatly
enhance your use of Reiki. At the same time, it can also increase
your comprehension of life itself.
Included in this issue
are a number of articles written by well-known Reiki authors,
which we hope you will find to provide a very through description
of the HES. Diane Shewmaker gives us an exceptionally
clear overview of the HES and explains how to restore balance
and harmony by treating the aura with Reiki. Walter Lübeck continues with his article on the chakras and includes
information on healing stones and how to use them to treat the
chakras, along with other interesting techniques. Penelope
Quest shows us how to detect the aura and chakras with dowsing
rods and with our hands, and even how to see them. Doing this
provides us with a personal experience of the HES by allowing
us to interact with it directly which is necessary if we are
to use Reiki to heal it. Laurelle Shanti Gaia introduces
us to the Soul Chakras, which adds greater depth to our understanding
of the HES and additional healing possibilities. The interview
with James Oschman, Ph.D. grounds our understanding of
the HES in the world of science and provides new perspectives
on healing and how Reiki works. This interview provides one
of the most interesting explanations of healing and Reiki I
have ever read. This information will be most helpful to anyone
wanting to work with the medical community as it provides proof
that Reiki exists and has value! Mari Hall shares her
experience using Reiki to help an infertile couple conceive
and give birth to a child. And finally, our Reiki Stories section
gives inspiration and hope that Reiki can help us solve serious
difficulties.
If you already have a subscription,
I invite you to take the time to read and study the material
offered in the winter edition and to experiment with it. As
we improve our use of Reiki, not only do we help others, we
also make the world a better place to live. May
you be blessed by the love and healing that flows through you
to others.
Peace and joy,
William Lee Rand

Reiki Improves Clotting Factor
November 19, 2001 I was going to be operated on for a stone
in my right kidney. After being two weeks in a hospital under
study, my clotting factor was about 29. The same day I was given
a couple of K vitamin shots to raise the factor. Next day I
was taken to the operating room, but again the clotting factor
was only 30. The operation was suspended and I was told, under
these conditions, they could not operate because of the high
risk of hemorrhage. I went home and began to look for Reiki
on the internet. I found several Reiki healers who did not charge
for the service. I sent my problem to them because I am an old
man of 75 and my retirement pension is a little over US$100.
I started to immediately receive answers saying my petition
would be fulfilled at that very moment.
After two weeks I went to a blood specialist and after several
analyses my clotting factor had increased to 93. I was successfully
operated on November 25 2002. I must say I recommend Reiki to
any one who suffers. Thank you for giving me the chance to have
this case known. I live in Chile, South America. Julio Villarroel
Gall Bladder Operation
I am a healer and Reiki master. Almost daily I am giving a Reiki
treatment to at least one sister here, a brother there. I feel
the working of Reiki. Especially my wife can feel heaviness
at a part of a body and the doctor will find some disorder there.
My daughter never takes a pill and relies upon me for treatment.
She immediately feels the heat as soon as I start cleansing.
A few months back a man affected by severe gall bladder disorder
was hospitalized. Doctors advised him to go to a bigger hospital
for an operation. The man was a non-believer of Reiki who used
to condemn this divine art altogether as black magic. He did
not have sleep and he could not take a little morsel of food
all those days. I met him after fifteen days of his hospitalization.
He had become emaciated and was struggling for life. When I
observed him his aura was good and eyes were bright. So I started
treating him on the hospital bed.
I cleansed the room first then the aura. Then I applied all
the mantras. I gave Reiki profusely. That same evening he started
taking food. Everyone was happy. The very next day the doctor
examined him and to his astonishment his health had improved.
He was discharged after two days. I again gave Reiki at his
residence. He was so weak that his hands, head and legs underwent
some epileptic-like movements. The very next day he was all
right and started believing Reiki. He said "you are the
God in this form who saved me". I thanked the guru and
God. Ramachandran Ganesh
Reiki Helps the Body to Accept Transplanted Organs
I was asked to do Reiki for a woman who had her third liver
transplant and whose immune system kept rejecting the organ.
As always when I do Reiki I completely surrender myself and
allow the divine energy to guide me. During this session I placed
my hands on the woman's body close to her liver. The energy
was pouring into the liver and she described the feeling as
though the organ was totally immersed in vibration and warmth.
She described it as if her body embraced the organ and accepted
it with her own energy. I placed my hands over the immune system
where the thymus is located. The woman experienced the same
feeling here. I was guided to connect the immune system with
the liver and then the energy was pouring clearly between the
two. The woman described the feeling in the body as a harmonious
embrace between the liver and the thymus.
This experience revealed to me that when we receive an organ
donation, the energy vibrations are slightly different than
ours and it becomes compatible when the foreign organ vibrates
the same as the rest of the body. Dascha Friedl
